[Today on the network is a video of a Rattata chasing its tail. Aside from the sounds of the little Pokemon scurrying in circles on the ground as well as the bustling sounds of the town of Violet, the video is silent. There's no trainer talking about said Pokemon on the screen, nor is there any Pokemon talking either. Not for a good couple of minutes anyway.

If you stick it out long enough, eventually a meek sounding girl speaks up.]

...h-hello everyone. I...I think I have this...filtered correctly.

[Quite obviously she doesn't, considering this is broadcasting to anyone who decides to look at their gear. Where did she learn to even attempt to filter posts? Who knows.]

Nanami-san...we're in Violet now! K-Kuzuryuu-san and I are waiting by the Pokemon Center. I-I wanted to introduce you and Hinata-san to my Rattata!

[Because apparently catching Pokemon is Important plus she thinks the little rat is very cute.]

Th-this is Verapamil. Kuzuryuu-san helped me catch her. Sh-she doesn't look like it but she is very strong! Um...I-I guess that's all I had to say...

[Hastily the video is shut off. Someone needs to teach this girl how to properly filter her messages.]

[Anyone interested in visiting these two can find them by the Pokemon Center, like she stated. Tsumiki now playing with her Rattata while her Audino stands nearby. Kuzuryuu stands a few feet away, accompanied by his Pawniard as usual and looking a little surly. Well...surlier than usual. That might have something to do with the Spinarak sitting on his head but really, it could be anything.]

In any case, she scrambles off the ground immediately.] How did you even bear looking at her face? I would've rather gouged my eyes out that deal traveling with her... actually, no. I'd much rather just cripple her and let nature take its course.

And what is that spider on your head doing there for? You look ridiculous!

[Okay if she'd saved the spider comment for a little later on in the conversation, it probably could have continued on with the tone of seriousness it's had all up until this point. But instead she mentioned the spider so now we have to get that out of the way first.]

I've been trying to get rid of the damn thing for days! The little parasite won't leave me al-- wait. [Realization: get.] You like bugs, right?

[Yes. Yes he is making an attempt to pawn this spider off on you, Saionji. WE;ll get back on topic here in a minute.]

[The spider, meanwhile, seems to be taking this threat of being fed to a Mawile very seriously. It squeaks fearfully, curling in on itself a little and trembling.]

In any case, said Mawile is staring at the Spinarak expectantly. Her Ampharos looks concerned.]

[Well that escalated quickly.]

[Kuzuryuu freezes, going rigid and fixing Saionji with a livid stare. For a moment, it almost seems as though all the air has been sucked from the room. Or at least the air in directly around themselves. Even the Spinarak seems to sense something is up, launching a web to the ceiling and pulling itself up out of reach just in case shit hits the fan. And also to put more distance between itself and that Mawile.]

[Kuzuryuu doesn't even remotely have a comeback for this. She's absolutely right. That attempt had been useless. Koizumi and Peko died, it was all his fault, and all his attempt to save Peko had done was nearly get him killed too.]

[But he'd learned from that, hadn't he? After all, he'd made it to the end. And if they hadn't all been miraculously brought here, right now he'd be working with the other survivors to try and bring all the "dead" kids back.]

[He could bring this up. Take it one step further and tell her that at least he didn't get himself killed and wind up literally braindead. But he's not going to. That would mean spilling the truth to Saionji and he's still not keen on doing that just yet...if ever.]

[That livid, slightly murderous look fades from his eyes and his expression relaxes somewhat.]

She could call their truce off, too- she was unceremoniously deceased, and they were off the damned island. They was nothing stopping her from just yelling and yelling until he bows over again, because he deserves it, and he will do it because he knows that he deserves it and that's just a fraction of the justice that needs to be served but it makes her feel-

[Well, that Mawile is seriously jumping pathetically in an attempt to reach the ceiling. Saionji just stares for a moment before doing something.] We need to lure it down. Or knock it out. Do you have a Fire-type who knows Flamethrower?

[SAIONJI FLAMETHROWERS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE POKÉCENTER]

["The Damn Nuisance," however isn't sticking around to hear Kuzuryuu's protests and is instead scuttling away across the ceiling to go hide somewhere in the center and probably eventually make a break for the door. GOOD RIDDANCE. DON'T COME BACK THIS TIME.]

This is my starter. [He gestures to the Pawniard still standing stoically at his side not unlike some kind of knee-high bodyguard.] She's a Pawniard. And I caught a Shinx on the way here.

[And you already met his sort-of Spinarak. What a roster, wow.]

[She herself sends out a Petilil, who immediately rushes next to Saionji.] Ayani was my starter! I hatched Nako, my Petilil, from an egg. My Eevee and Snorunt too!

Catching a wild Pokémon and taming them is too much trouble.
