Third Vaccine; Video

[Hey hello hi everyone hi. There is a very excited, very different looking Eevee staring you all in the face right now. And after a lovely shot of blue skies and trees and a little staring, the silver-colored Pokemon gets to work licking the screen. Because hello everyone and everything! She sees you all!]

A-Amelanosis, wait...! [As the owner of the voice approaches, the Eevee looks up and begins to chirp happily. Pretty soon she pulls away from the gear, jumping at the legs of her trainer, who picks both the piece of technology and the Pokemon up with a sigh.]

I'm...sorry if she interrupted anyone...I actually did want to make a post though...i-if no one minds. You can just ignore this if you want though...

[Sitting down, she points the camera at the baby Pokemon now in her lap.]

I-is it possible for...Pokemon to be albino? Or...different colors at all? Because I've seen a few Eevee before and they've all been brown...and in every other species, Pokemon seem to stay the same color so... She took a very long time to hatch too...

Is she okay? Did I do something wrong...?

[Tsumiki sounds genuinely concerned and just a little bit upset as she asks this. There's a couple more moments of a curious looking Eevee on the screen before the feed ends.]

About...two months now, I think...my classmate and I showed up here in January.

[Sorry, Tsumiki, he is incapable of not giving compliments. Compliments = smiling people = Joker's goal in life.]

Even if it's just medicine, yer still smart, right? I never even went ta a proper school myself. Ringleadin' is all I'm really good for.

[Well, and other things, but we don't talk about those.]

Oh yeah? Well it's good you've got someone here you recognize! You'll definitely get used to this place eventually, even if it is pretty fucking weird.

...I suppose...when you put it like that, then yes. I'm very smart when it concerns medicine and the medical world in general. I can't do everything that a doctor can, maybe, but...I take pride in nursing people to the best of my abilities.

You're the ringleader of the circus...? [She wasn't sure what she'd been expecting him to be really. The owner, maybe. Which, when she thinks about it, probably equates to ringleader anyway...]

[She smiles, nodding.] Actually...a few of my classmates are here! There were a few who were here before we arrived...and I've also met other students who go to the same school. They were in a different class but...it's nice getting to know them anyway...

And...this is a game, isn't it? That's why this place is so weird, right...?

There ya go! Even if ya ain't a doctor, nurses are still important, yeah?

[At the mention of his circus and his own standing in it, he just grins all the brighter. Back home, it would've been different. He was just a stand-in, then, and every title like 'owner' and 'ringleader' honestly belonged to Father. Still, he always seemed to end up playing the part... and here, he supposes it's the most true it's ever been.]

Yep! When ya come ta visit, I'll be right in the ring with everyone else. I have a lotta ideas that I hope everyone likes. Bein' here with Pokemon sure opens up a lotta new ideas! Oh- [It should be impossible for him to grin this much, but here he is.] And there's good news! Our tightrope walker, my little sister, she just arrived! We're gonna be pickin' her up soon.

Oh, whoa, hang on, are you from that other class? Did you go to Hope's Peak?

[There's no way that there are two classes of students here, right?]

...Well, Pokémon is a video game, but I don't know if this place is a video game. I guess it could be, but I hadn't really thought about it...

[She simply nods, listening as Joker explains. And when he mentions his sister, she smiles a little brighter herself.

His smile is contagious.]

Your little sister is a tightrope walker...are all of your family members performers...? What sorts of acts will Pokemon be able to perform...?

Well...okay I guess you missed it when she hatched so I'll just show you. Both of those questions can be answered better with a visual actually, hold on. [He pulls a Pokéball out of his pocket, glancing somewhere off screen.] Hey, Phoebe, head's up! [There's a flash as Phoebe is presumably returned to her ball before John turns his attention back to Tsumiki. He scoots the camera back a little on the coffee table.]

Okay, watch what happens when I let her back out. [Phoebe is, apparently, a shiny Whimsicott and the reason for the whole 'shiny' thing should be evident when she first appears in a small shower of sparkles.] See? They sparkle when you let them out of the ball and when they hatch too, if memory serves. And...sometimes just for no real reason.

[He scritches the Whimsicott on the top of the head, eliciting a happy coo from the small sheep.] Hey Phoebe can you stay here and keep Tsumiki company for a bit while I go track down Lestat and Quinn? [She gives him a very determined look and a nod, putting her hands on her hips with a confident "Cott!!"] Hehe, good girl. Okay, I'll be right back, you two.

[Hello Tsumiki this is Phoebe and she's going to wave at you. Hi. Hello friend of Daddy. ouo]

A-ah, yes...! I'm from Hinata-san's class! Does...that mean you are from Naegi-san's class?

[A+ you two. You figured it out.]

I don't...think I'd want to be stuck in a video game...so hopefully that's not the case...

Yep! We ain't exactly related by blood- I don't think anyway, although who knows in the streets- but we've grown up and taken care a each other better than most. I can tell ya about 'em if ya like!

And there'll be all sorts. Some a them'll just be helpin' out, but others'll definitely be the main act! I've already got most a mine all ready ta work in the spotlight.

[She did indeed miss the sparkles, and nods when he mentions showing her. And as he does that, she watches carefully, obviously surprised by the sparkles.]

Oh! I understand now...! [Oh but wait you're just--okay. Well hello Phoebe!! She waves back, smiling and seemingly just a little less timid now.]

H-hello. It's nice to meet you...Phoebe, right?

...that must be really nice. If you wanted to talk about them...I'd like to listen. But...only if you want to.

[She's honestly pretty excited for this circus. That's definitely going to be something she's going to go see when it's up and she's able to.]

Heh, who doesn't like ta boast 'bout their family? Anyway, 'sides myself, there's seven in the family! There's Snake and Doll, who're here. They do the snakecharmin' and tightrope walkin' respectively.

Back home, there's Beast our animal tamer, Dagger our knife thrower, Wendy and Peter were the acrobats, an' Jumbo was our firebreather! Who would ya like ta hear about first?

[He doesn't want to overload her, after all. It's a big family!]

...Ah!

[ Yes, Nanami did just stare at the screen for two minutes before even saying that. You should be used to this sort of thing by now, Tsumiki. ]

A shiny...! How lucky. You know, if you evolve her, her other form will be differently colored, too...it's a special sort of thing.

[Probably a good plan.]

Um...how about Snake and Doll...since they're here?

[She's very used to it, and waited until she spoke to say anything.]

It will? Will it be white, like her?

[OH WAIT. IT'S NANAMI!!]

Ah, I never did thank you! I'm sorry, Nanami-san!

[She'll just do that now, bowing a little to the screen.]

Thank you for the egg. I've been taking very good care of it!

[ Her classmates being so accommodating of her many silences probably says a lot about their friendships. ]

Hm...I only know the first three evolutions. For example, Vaporeon is purple instead of blue when it's shiny...Jolteon is green, and Flareon is sort of gold...I'm not sure about the others, but I could research it for you or ask around.

[ Her shiny knowledge extends to gen 1 and then jumps to the Lopunny she has and that's...it... ]

Ah, but it's not a problem...I knew you'd take good care of it. And I'm glad you liked it...although, given that's her...I should say her, right?

Well, good a start as any, huh?

Doll's the youngest outta the whole first tier- the main acts, ya could say. [Which coincidentally is made up of the family.] She's definitely one a the kinder ones 'round! She's never been one for too much praise even 'tho she's the best tightrope walker anyone could ask for. I think ya would definitely like her if ya got ta meet her! She loves bein' with people. You'll know her when ya see her. [A laugh.] Our accent's a bit similar! We don't pretty it up when we don't have to. She has bangs over one eye too, if that helps.

Snake, now he's a bit more quiet and let's his friends do the talkin'. He has scales on his body in patches, so that's an easy way ta recognize him. He's real smart, 'tho- names all his friends after authors and whatnot. I'm hopin' there's another writin' contest sometime soon that he can enter, I think he'd win. He can talk ta snakes, ya know~.

[Probably. But it says nothing but good things at least.]

Purple, green and gold...those are all very different from each other, wow. I thought evolutions would be closer in color to one another...I'd appreciate that, Nanami-san! But please don't go out of your way or anything on my behalf...because I want to evolve her based on Pokemon and not colors, so it's not too important in the end...

And yes! Amelanosis is a girl. Th-thank you for your faith in me...

Mm...but now I'm curious, you know...? So it wouldn't be going out of my way. It's like a mystery game...although I think the mysteries will be a little easier to solve than that.

[ Since presumably no one has any reason to keep this information from her... ]

Amelanosis...that's a pretty name. What sort of medical thing is it...?

Ah... I have an Archen that's like that. He's not white like that, but compared to pictures I've seen of normal ones his colors are pretty different; instead of blue, red and gold, he's green, orange and a really pale yellow. I didn't really notice at first, but he's perfectly healthy. I-I think yours'll be fine too.

Well...if you do find out, I would like to know! And thank you...Amelanosis is another name for albinism. It refers to the condition where there is a lack of pigments called melanin in the body, which is what causes animals to appear white.

...Green, orange and yellow? Those are...very close to the original colors...it must have been easy to miss...

[She probably would have missed it too herself.]

But...you've only seen pictures of your Pokemon...? Or...sorry, I meant others of the same species...I'm sorry if I'm b-being confusing!

In that case, it's a perfect name for her...ah, I've heard that breeders can breed shinies here, but trainers can't. At least...that's what I was told...

Since that's how it is, if you ever start breeding, I don't mind if you use Vibri or Miki.
