[Surprise is right. And unexpected is also right! She's in the middle of pulling her hair back, trying to...tame it...somewhat for the party when she hears the knock. Putting her brush and hair tie down, she moves to open the door, sort of peeking around it at first.]
Kuzuryuu-san?
[Alright, she can open the door more for him. Though she honestly looks a little distressed. Why are you here?]
[Okay that was neither the response nor the facial expression he was expecting. HE WAS TRYING HIS BEST NOT TO LOOK ANGRY WHY DOES SHE SEEM TO THINK SHE'S IN TROUBLE oh wait because she's Tsumiki. Duh. Mystery solved.]
No, it's still at the same time. I'm not here because of the party...
[Okay, come on Kuzuryuu. All you have to do is just hand her the present. It's not big deal. Come on, you fucking pansy. IF SHE COULD DO IT ON VALENTINE'S DAY, YOU CAN DO IT RIGHT NOW.]
[...]
Here.
[Okay apparently we're not going to give an actual explanation, we're just going to kind of stiffly hold out a small white gift bag and try not to break eye contact. You go, Kuzuryuu. You are the White Day champ.]
[It's not that he looks angry she just doesn't get why he's coming to see her before the party??? Even with the gift, she's still completely baffled. She just...sort of looks at him, and then down at the gift, and then back up to him before gingerly taking it and...still looking very confused.]
...do...do you want me to...keep Nanami's gift with me? [Yup, White Day has not even crossed her mind.]
I-I mean...I will but...w-wouldn't you want to bring it...with you?
[Good choice, Tsumiki. Kuzuryuu is definitely not the touchy sort outside of a very, VERY small group of people. Sorry to say, that group does not include you.]
Well you gave me chocolate, didn't you? The fuck did you expect me to do?
[REALLY, TSUMIKI JUST THINK ABOUT WHO WE'RE DEALING WITH HERE FOR A SECOND.]
What are you asking me that for, it's your damn present. Open it, don't open it, doesn't matter to me. It's literally in your hands now.
[Though...apparently he doesn't actually want to BE there when she opens it for some reason or another because he's turning to head back to his own room. He does at least put his arm up in a sort of farewell acknowledgement though.]
I'll see you at the party. You can let me know then whether or not you decided to open it.
[And apparently he's not giving her a chance to do it till then because he sure does disappear into the boys' shared room pretty quick upon reaching the door.]
[She's quiet as he talks, trying to figure out exactly what to say. Because he didn't really have to get her anything. Knowing he liked the chocolates would have been more than enough for her. But it's plain to see that she's really happy that he would do this for her.
By the time she decides what to say though, he's basically telling her not to and slipping away like he's on fire or something.]
A-ah, Kuzuryuu-san, wai...wait....
[But he's gone by the time she speaks up. Sighing, she looks down at the bag and retreats into her room.
...really, he was right. It was her gift, so of course she's allowed to open it. And sitting down on the couch she does just that.
[Look, just giving it to her was an ordeal in and of itself, okay? He's not sure if he could take...whatever her reaction is going to be to the gift on TOP of that.]
[Anyway, inside the bag are three empty sort of appropriately colored berry pots. This is...kind of a weird White Day present but did you actually expect Kuzuryuu to go the candy route? Or the jewelry route? Especially in a platonic instance like this one? CLEARLY berry pots were the best way to go here, yes.]
[It's a weird White Day gift? Tsumiki doesn't think so. Berry pots were definitely the best way to go. She's surprised to find three of them though...she really only needed one. It's another "this would have been enough" thing, but she's not going to complain about having three.
They are immediately set out on a table and put to use. Berries are planted and watered and she is beyond pleased with this.
[Okay so thankfully Tenten once mentioned to John that White Day is a thing and even though he is Very American, he does try to be culturally sensitive. So he might have tried his best to look up what he's actually supposed to DO for this holiday that basically sounds like Valentine's Day 2.0.]
[Whenever Tsumiki gets around to checking her PC, she'll find a small, flat, unwrapped white box, the sort of thing one would find either chocolates or jewelry inside. In this case, it's the former. There are ten white chocolate covered marshmallows inside, each styled to look like a smiling Litwick, complete with a purple (grape) or light blue (blue raspberry) jelly bean for the flame. There's also a simple card wishing her a Happy White Day because that seemed like something he should include in there.]
[After spending way too long trying to figure out what he's supposed to do and how to avoid making this overfamiliar, she'll be receiving a plain gift bag containing a fair amount of white chocolate in it; happy White Day, Tsumiki-kun.]
[ At some point during the day, a box of white chocolate can be found in the PC. The chocolate is good but nothing super fancy or overly extravagant and attached is a note thanking her for the chocolate he received last month. ]
Empty ones...? Oh, I guess some of them probably are. I got one with a silver ticket inside it, though. There's going to be a party of some sort...! It's going to be at Tohjo Falls! Thrown by the Elite Four!
[ CLEARLY THAT'S EXCITING SOMEHOW...To the SHSL Gamer, at least. They had her at "party thrown by the Elite Four". ]
It's okay that you didn't find a ticket, though. It says you can bring a plus one, so if you want, you can come as mine?
Sure. Don't you think it'll be fun? The place where the Elite Four are, and mystery guests, and things like that...I guess there will be dancing, too. I should take lessons.
[ AT LEAST, SHE PROBABLY SHOULD...she will add it to her "to do" list. ]
Well, it says I get a plus-one...so, that's reserved for you, okay?
[ surely everyone else can find their own tickets...
And she nods, after a second. ]
Mmhmm. I'll tell you when they start...I guess I should wait until after Prom to start travelling again, so we can set them up here in Goldenrod. The Elite Four, though...they're the top trainers! Only the Champion is above them. You can't fight them until you have all the gym badges, but then you can finally challenge them...!
Talk to me...? I-I'm sorry, Nanami-san! [For what, Tsumiki?] I-I'll be there r-right away!
[Clearly if you need to talk to her, she did something wrong. But she isn't lying. Slipping on her shoes and ushering her gaggle of mons outside, she's doing her best to get to the Center as quickly as possible.
Which probably would work better if she left the Pokemon back in the room.]
