[Bocchan you are in so. much. trouble right now. It probably shows in the way her entire body tenses and her lips firm into a thin line. And there's guilt there, too, because even with all her attempts to protect him during her execution, he was still injured to the point where their SHSL Nurse saw fit to yell at him for it.]

I see. [There's a bit of a strangled quality to her voice, but she manages to repress it as she just gives Kuzuryuu a look. They are going to have to have Words later. But she won't say anything against him in front of the others, so she just crosses her arms and faces the other two.]

If the young master thought it a sufficient reason... then I hope his apology was accepted. [She isn't all that sure what he would have been apologizing for that would warrant that but??? Sticking with him.]

Thank you, Tsumiki, for your assistance. I owe you a debt of gratitude. [Just what Tsumiki needs. A yakuza who thinks she's indebted to her.]

I...I'm not... [All of that backbone she just had seems to have disappeared as she looks at her lap, hands wringing nervously. There's an odd sort of strangled squeak before tears start streaming down her cheeks. All Kuzuryuu gets are a few mumbled apologies. She doesn't even know what to say to Peko...]

...Kuzuryuu-kun, don't yell at her for this. We're not playing at anything...rather, I just don't want to see that scene again. You really had us worried. Even if it's an apology, it's not one that most of us can understand, is it? That is...please don't do something that hurts yourself even if it's for a reason such as that, because you'll hurt the rest of us when you do it, too.

[ That's...all she was getting at, although it feels clumsy, since she isn't taking as much time as she always does to think out her words, frowning at Tsumiki's tears. ]

...Where you come from it might have needed blood, but for us, just saying "I'm sorry" and "let's work together from now on" were always going to do, you know? It's not that I intend to say you didn't do something honorable or anything like that, because that's how you see it, right? And I've never thought you were a pathetic person ever, or intended to make you sound that way. ..I just want everyone to live happily and to never see any of you hurting like that ever again. Is that selfish...? It probably is, I think, but I hope you'll forgive me this selfish request.

[Maybe it's just because he was yelling so loudly before, but his voice now almost seems TOO quiet. It was audible, sure, but only just. He turns his attention to Tsumiki, bowing in a way that is clearly apologetic. See, look. He can apologize like a normal person after all. And he can also get his volume back to a normal human level. Amazing.]

Sorry...I shouldn't have yelled. [Lord, Tsumiki, you know he is trying not to yell around you as much but sometimes you make that very difficult. By...you know, worrying about him. Because that's like the end of the fucking world when you're Kuzuryuu, apparently. Heaven forbid people worry about your well being.]

[Once he straightens back up, he shoves his hands in his pockets, pointedly avoiding making eye contact with Peko. He saw that look. He knows exactly what that look means and BOY IS HE NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT CONVERSATION. Maybe she'll forget while they're out getting cak-- who is he kidding. She is absolutely not going to forget.]

That's...a good idea though, yeah.

[Pekoyama winces as Tsumiki starts crying. It had taken her a long time to realize that the louder he was, the less chance there was of Kuzuryuu actually doing something violent (usually). And with what she'd seen of him so far in Johto... she rather doubted he would do anything to harm either of these two. Or any of their classmates.

Her arms only cross more tightly over her chest as she looks to him for some kind of cue -- she could attempt to calm Tsumiki down, but then she looks to Nanami; looks like that won't be necessary. Seeing him bow to the nurse widens her eyes, and for a moment, she can't do anything but stare. Things certainly have changed. And even if it hurts to have him avoid her eyes, she forces herself to return her attention to the other two girls with a nod.]

What kind of cake would you like? [she asks finally, her fingernails still digging into her bicep as she does her best to not think about all the questions she has to ask Kuzuryuu. Later. She would ensure there would be time for that later.]

[She's no less surprised than Peko by the bow, voice caught in her throat while she tries to figure out what to do or say. Kuzuryuu is bowing to her? Bowing? An apology is one thing but...

The girl wipes her eyes, still sniffling a little but otherwise seems to have calmed down. Apparently shocking her is a good way to get her to stop crying. She still seems pretty subdued though, eyes gluing to her lap once again.]

...i-it's...i-it's okay, Kuzuryuu-san...I-I'm sorry.

[A cake though? ...what kind of cake would she like?]

Well, if you don't want one, it's okay. But if it's a matter of "I don't want to put you out to getting one", that doesn't count as a reason not to get one. So...that is, if you say you really don't want one, I'll drop it, but be sure that if you say that, it's because the reason is "I don't want a cake", not "I don't think I deserve a cake".

[ She has to be sure which your refusal is meant to imply... ]

[Kuzuryuu is 100% positive that Tsumiki's refusal is the latter of Nanami's suggestions, not the former. And while he doesn't say anything, he does attempt to back Nanami up by way of giving Tsumiki A Look. One that very clearly implies he knows what her reasoning is and if she knows what's good for her, she'll tell Nanami the truth.]

[This is...yes, this is definitely better than actually saying something. You go, Kuzuryuu.]

[Pekoyama actually isn't going to push the point. If Tsumiki says she doesn't need a cake, then she understands the sentiment. Honestly, it's making her a little uncomfortable anyway, since she doesn't want the conversation to shift to her birthday at any point.]

[Because yes. Being stared down by two yakuza (+Nanami) is definitely the way to encourage someone to make a decision.]

[WHY ARE YOU ALL PICKING ON HER?!?! She wrings her skirt in her hands nervously, looking down and wanting desperately to tell them no. But Nanami won't have it...and neither will Kuzuryuu apparently and Peko's stoic gaze isn't helping either!!!

So when she does finally answer them, it's mumbled and might be hard to hear, sorry.]

[There's a little more thought put into this, judging by the look of concentration she puts on.]

Um. And...if it wouldn't be too much trouble that is...c-could we...have some soy chocolate ice cream to go with it?

...ch-chocolate ice cream...goes well with vanilla cake...right? O-or...or should I ask for vanilla...i-isn't that tradition for birthday parties...?
